after school clubs - midlands

Top Hat Midlands offer After School Clubs in and around the Staffordshire, West Midlands and Shropshire area. We provide Musical Theatre, Drama, Dance or Singing after school clubs. We are very flexible and can adapt to suit your school’s requirements. All our teachers are professionally trained, enthusiastic and all have DBS checks.

The after-school club provides the children with a fun, informative and energetic hour after the school day has finished to build their confidence and singing, dance and drama skills.

We play lots of games to encourage team work, imagination, concentration and special awareness. We will work toward an end of term performance, this can be part of the school’s assembly or as a performance to the parents on the last day. We provide each child with a certificate for their hard work and will also award a child with a ‘Star of the Term’.

The children at Woodlands have relished the opportunity to work alongside the Top Hat team, developing their performing arts skills in a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere. They have enjoyed learning dance routines, new songs and acting, culminating in a fantastic performance for parents! The importance of drama and performing arts in education is significant, and the Top Hat staff are skilled in engaging pupils with few prior experiences, to learn to approach situations in an array of different manners, which has helped our pupils to develop creative thinking and new study techniques. Furthermore, it has enabled the pupils that took part, to build their confidence and self-presentation, allowing them to grow their self-esteem and self-confidence, developing poise and learning to overcome anxieties. The Top Hat Performing Arts Team are also skilled in developing social interaction and cooperation, linking closely with our Vision and Values – The Secrets of Success. To quote one of our pupils ‘I just LOVE Top Hat, especially singing to our parents! The staff are great fun and amazing teachers, especially Sophie!’ Ophelia Moon

Top Hat Stage School have been working with Holmer Lake Primary School since January 2016. They have been excellent providers of our Top Hat Stage School after school club which has been running on a weekly basis. Over 60 children across all age groups from Reception to Year 6 have had the opportunity so far to be involved in arrange of dance, drama and singing activities. All children who have participated have grown in confidence as they practise and improve their skills and present what they have learnt in a final “show” to their parents at the end of each 6 week block of lessons.

This is what some of the children say about Top Hat

“I love the dance warm ups because they get my body moving”

“My favourite things are playing the fun games like Buzzy Bee”

“I feel much better now performing in front of others and it’s all really good fun”

“When we do dancing to Chicken Tikka I just love it!"
