Claudia Carrasco Valdich first got involved in theater in high school, when she became a member of the International Thespian Society to compete and audition for musical theater and technical specializations. She was a part of the Naples Philharmonic Youth Choral and Chamber Choir in the US and continued to follow her passion at New York University where she studied Theater and Brain and Cognitive Science. During her time at NYU, she focused on non-western performance in the United Arab Emirates, India, Nepal, and China. She also attended the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in NYC and worked on collaborative musical theater with renowned director, Liz Swados. In Italy, she studied and performed Pantomine, Commedia dell’Arte, and Italian Opera. She worked as the high school drama teacher and ran the extra-curricular musical theater program for primary and middle school children at the American Cooperative School in Bolivia, where she produced the musical “Into the Woods, Jr.”, featuring 39 ten-to-eleven year olds. She is very eager to continue to work with children and musicals in Italy.
