Why Top Hat

With over 20 years’ experience as Hertfordshire’s leading independent Stage and Screen School, we feel we have the experience and commitment to offer your child the very best in Theatre Arts Training.

When your child joins us he or she along with yourselves will be joining something special, an affiliation and friendship that we hope will last for many years, providing a solid base on which your child will thrive. We operate an open door policy whereby all TOP HATTERS and parents are able to communicate their views, feelings and suggestions through the teaching staff or directly to ourselves, whereby improvements may be made.

Our classes are divided into 2 main groups:

TINY TOPPERS: a class for our 4 & 5 year olds.

TOP HATTERS: which is for all our 6 – 17 year olds which is divided into 3 stages:

STAGE 2: 6-8 years

STAGE 3: 9-11 years

STAGE 4: 12-17 years

Teachers: All of our teachers are professionals in their own right so can give the student real life experiences on what it is like to have worked in the industry
Originality: We love to challenge the kids and keep them interested by doing different content. Every term brings new challenges, skills to learn and discover different types of music.
Perform: Performing is important so all of our students take part in productions twice a year.
Happiness: Its important to us that every child enjoys their time with Top Hat. On the first day we buddy every new starter up with someone of similar age to ensure that crucial first day runs smoothly for everyone. in our eyes every child matters.
Accessibility: Every child comes to Top Hat for their own reasons, be it to build confidence or to become the next big star. We make sure that every child has a part and the opportunities to perform solos and get featured in dances.
Teamwork: The stage is very rarely a solo play ground. All our students are taught the importance of recognising that every role is important and that without teamwork a show cannot happen. There is no such thing as a small role.
